If you've been a long time fan of the Street Fighter franchise, chances are you're pretty excited to get your hands on a copy of Street Fighter IV -- the next iteration of one of the most renowned fighting game series of all time. On Capcom representative Chris Kramer's blog, a post was made today officially announcing Street Fighter IV's release as February 17th. Kramer also notes that the UK release will land soon after on the 20th. Fortunately, the PS3 and 360 versions will arrive on the same day so fans of the series can pick up either come mid February.

Halo 3: Recon, the standalone expansion pack that finally broke cover at this year's TGS, will not be a $60 game, with the campaign running to some three to five hours in length.
 
Teased for an eternity and controversially missing this year's E3, Halo 3: Recon takes a different perspective on Bungie's lauded Xbox 360 shooters. Details are still relatively scarce, but the latest issue of Game Informer – scrutinised by Joystiq – is suggesting that Halo Recon's campaign will be a brief affair that will see it retail at a budget price point.

After confirming plans to stick with its current Xbox 360 pricing, Microsoft UK head Stephen McGill has informed Videogamer that there's a "lot of great stuff" headed to the Xbox 360 in 2009. Secret, surprising stuff.

"I know a lot of the games coming out from us and our third parties. Most of them, in fact, have not been announced because everyone's very focused on what's out for Christmas" says McGill, admitting that "there's lots of great stuff coming in 2009 that people know about. Lots more, I'm sure that they don't know about." Hmm, lots more we don't know about huh?

True, we're all focused on the jam packed Holiday 2008 game lineup, but we've been keen to remember that 2009 will bring Halo Wars, Halo 3: Recon and even Resident Evil 5. But even more surprises in 2009? Unimaginable! We'll be accepting of these Xbox surprises, but we're not sure our bank account will be as understanding.

While the moniker of this webiste (as seen hanging ominously above) often causes readers to assume that we are a font of Microsoft biased gushing, we are, in fact, comprised of bloggers with a variety of gaming passions. As such, we have to admit that we're intrigued by the PS3 exclusive build-your-own-platformer Little Big Planet, yet woefully unable to afford the hardware necessary to play it. If you find yourself in the same position, you may find hope in Boku, a new programing tool from Microsoft. Boku allows users to create entire games using an entirely icon-driven system which can be controlled using only an Xbox 360 controller. In other words, Boku offers the promise of XNA (on which the tool is based) without the need for programming knowledge, allowing users of all ages to create their own games.

This V8 remake with improved graphics and new features will be available for 800 Microsoft points this Wednesday, November 5th. And if you have already experience V8 back in the glory gaming days, then we don't have to sell you Vigilante 8 Arcade. While the new dashboard update isn't out yet You can technically get your hands on it early. Their are plenty of things to consider before doing it. Those include:

• No XBOX LIVE until the update launches Nov. 19th
• You Might Get Banned (Don't think this will happen, since it puts legitimate early viewers Xbox Accounts @ Risk)
• Til Nov. 19th No Title Updates, if one comes out for one of your favorite games.
• You won't be able to check out the new Avatar Stuff (it needs XBOX LIVE for that)
• You won't be able to use NETFLIX (it needs XBOX LIVE for that)
• Gears of War 2 is out before new dash comes out. That means you won't be able to play online. :(
• I've already done it so you don't have to. Just listen to this weeks show or watch the video that's forthcoming.

It may have been one of the worst kept secrets in the industry, but the cat is officially out of the bag today. After rumors based on corporate cooperation, speculation about job postings, and even an outright acknowledgement by n high-ranking executive, LucasArts and BioWare have finally officially announced their joint massively-multiplayer online game at an event in San Francisco today. Titled Star Wars: The Old Republic, the new game is the first MMO for BioWare and the second Star Wars MMO for LucasArts.

Hey guys, just thought I'd give you a heads up for those who don't know yet. IGN has posted a Bioshock 2 Teaser Trailer over on their site. Fortunately this version is in HD and wasn't filmed with some guy's camera phone.
