Welcome to another Community Spotlight. This month were going to shine on Aussie Xp. Our brother from down under. For the record he said that Kameo sucks. So take that K!
1.Where are you from, and what are some your hobbies and other interests that you would like others to know about you?
I'm 16, I'm from Sydney, Australia and I love playing video games, 360 in particular, but occasionally I whip out my Wii when I'm bored (yes go ahead and laugh :P). I also really enjoy working in 3D Studio's Max, creating interior design scenes and animations...a little hobby of mine that i picked up a couple of years ago and that I hope to further at university in a couple of years. oh and I love listening to music....all the time.
2.How did you come up with your name, and how did you get into gaming ?
My gamertag is Aussie XP, and I think it speaks for itself no? Im Aussie, and I love Squad XP...put the two together and you get...the Aussie XP :P. Before I changed it a year ago my old gamertag was Noodle 6. On the original Xbox, when you played HALO multiplayer, each Xbox had its own unique name, my Xbox was called Noodle and I sort of used that nickname for everything after that. Changed it to Aussie XP because I wanted people to know I was Australian as I am extremely tired of people mistaking me for being British....which I sound absolutely nothing like.
I got into gaming when I was about 5 years old, I had just started school, never played any games and only heard of them vaguely. One day our family went out to the movies, afterwards my Dad took me to an electronic shop, walked in, looked around and said "Hmmmm, they don't have any...well this will have to do" and he picked up a N64..my very first console. Had they're been a playstation in stock, I probably would be sitting here with a PS3 next to me....it scares me to think about it...
3.Those uniguqe names on Xbox were crazy. What is your all time favorite game, and who is your all time rival?
Hmm...my all time favorite game....I wont say Goldeneye because well....that's everyone's favorite game :P. I think it would have to be Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic, I played that game to death as a kid and I still play it to this day. Other than that Call of Duty 4 is absolutely fantastic at the moment.
My all time rival would have to be my brother, we play together alot and it usually gets pretty competitive, I always win though!
4.I think that a brother always makes the best rival. How did you find out about squad xp?
A couple of years ago before I knew podcasts existed, I saw my friend listening to a Halo podcast, before then it had never occurred to me that people were making gaming podcasts. So i did a little iTunes search for "Xbox" (no 360 at the time) and found a whole bunch of podcasts, SquadXp included so I started listening (it was about show 8 I believe) and became hooked on show. I started checking out the site regularly and joined the forums a while later.
5.Show 8, been around since the early days. What are some achievements that you are most proud of?
Would have to be getting 1000 gamerscore in Hitman: Blood Money, I spent months and months playing that game over and over, doing everything perfectly. Also probably getting 1000 gamerscore in Halo3 within a couple of weeks of release...I barely left the house that week :P
6.And if someone wanted to game with you, what are you playing now?
Call of Duty 4 for sure, cant get enough of it.
